Harrington & Richardson 1873 Springfield 45-70 Cavalry Trapdoor Carbine. It was the standard U.S. Cavalry issue in the late 1870’s and it the first breech-loading rifle adopted by the Army. This carbine was type typically used by the Seventh Cavalry at the Battle of the Little Bighorn. Very nice colour case hardened hammer and butt plate. Stock is unmarked and together with an engraved receiver with contrasting fully blued metal finish on the remaining metalwork. This carbine is in excellent as new condition and would suit either a collector or shooter.
